Children's DBT-Informed Skills Group

Children's DBT-Informed Skills Group

A DBT-informed group for children that teaches skill building relating to identifying & naming feelings and emotions, managing stress and difficult situations, working through "big" emotions, and communicating with others.

This group will integrate the four modules of DBT (Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness), teaching children ways to reduce self-destructive behaviors and developing more productive ways to manage uncomfortable emotions. It is perfect for children who may have trouble getting along with others, find it difficult to control their emotions, exhibit impulsive behaviors, or have difficulty maintaining peer relationships.

Facilitated by Emily Acosta, MS, LAC, NCC and Danielle Dirmeitis, LPC Intern, we will meet at our West Long Branch office on Tuesdays at 5pm for ages 6-8 and Tuesdays at 6pm for ages 9-12.

*We are in-network with most major insurance companies & also offer sliding scale fees to those in need!
