Project HEAL is a new program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center that helps people in Monmouth and Ocean Counties who have experienced violence in their lives. We will meet you or your loved one wherever you feel most safe to provide immediate support. Our goal is to break the cycle of violence and help you become the best version of yourself. We are a caring, dedicated team made up of case managers, counselors, and medical staff to meet all of your needs. Our team lives locally and understands how violence can affect someone because they are also survivors. This gives you the safe and understanding space you need to heal, knowing that our team has been in your shoes and we have the perfect combination of heart and training to help.

Our mission is to instill hope, create opportunities and give support by providing help, empowerment and leadership to heal the community.

Hours:

Monday and Thursday: 8AM - 7PM
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 8AM - 4PM

Counseling

If you experience violence, it can change the way you think, feel and act. It can also affect how you handle stress, relate to others and make choices. Our trained counselors are here to:

  • Listen and guide with open hearts
  • Help get you back on a healthy path
  • Support you as you plan the future you want for yourself
  • Healthcare Coordination

Our team knows that sometimes after a stressful experience, you might have a hard time taking care of yourself. It is common that someone who has survived violence might need medical help but does not know where to go or who to call. Our Nurse Navigator can:

  • Complete a health check-up
  • Help with wound care
  • Make referrals and appointments
  • Case Management

A person who has experienced violence may not be aware of their rights and financial assistance as a result of the violence committed against them or someone they love.

Our compassionate and patient team is here to connect you with the necessary community support needed to heal and create a meaningful life. We can help you access a wide range of resources including:

  • Victims of Crime Compensation
  • Psychiatric and substance abuse treatment
  • Job training and placement
  • Educational opportunities
  • Social services
