Foster families are needed to provide homes for children who have been abandoned, neglected or abused. These children are in need of nurturing families who will help them heal and grow. Adoptive families are "forever families" and adopt children who not able to return to their birth family. We will help you through the process of becoming a licensed foster/adoptive parent.

Licensing includes:

  1. Personal, employment, school and child care references
  2. Criminal background and child abuse history checks
  3. Preservice training
  4. Interviews and assessments of all household members
  5. Home inspection

Support services available for children in your care include:

  1. Monthly board stipend
  2. Health Insurance
  3. Child care services for employed parents
Eligibility

To become a foster/adoptive parent:

  1. You must be at least 18 years old
  2. You can be single, married, in a domestic partnership or civil union
  3. You can live in a home or an apartment
  4. You can have your own children or be parenting for the first time
