The Atlantic Highlands Elementary Special Services department provides a wide variety of services to students with disabilities. Our programs can include intensive instruction and support according to the individual student's program, resource rooms to provide replacement instruction in small group settings, collaborative teaching models that utilize the expertise of both general education and special teachers, and in-class support for supplemental support in the general education setting. The district also provides speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and counseling as related to the Individual Education Plan.

The Child Study Team is a group of professionals who are involved in the identification, evaluation, and classification of students in the school district who might have some special needs.
