Monmouth County Park System

From summer camps to nature programs, and kayaking adventures to painting classes, the Park System offers a wide range of recreation programs that serve county residents of all ages, abilities, and financial levels. Spanning a vast expanse of over 18,000 acres, the Monmouth County Park System offers an abundance of activities and experiences for everyone. Whether you seek the serenity of sandy beaches, the thrill of a golf game, the tranquility of camping beneath the stars, the wonders of nature exploration, the joy of playgrounds, the calmness of paddling on pristine lakes, the memories made at our exciting events or the knowledge gained through educational programs, our parks stand ready to fulfill your desires.

Tennis and Pickleball Courts
Tennis courts are available for play from 8 a.m. to dusk. Tennis courts are located in Dorbrook Recreation Area, Colts Neck; Holmdel Park, Holmdel; and Thompson Park, Lincroft. Courts at Dorbrook Recreation Area and Thompson Park have been striped for pickleball play. Fort Monmouth Recreation Area has indoor and outdoor shared-use pickleball courts.

RecAssist for Individuals and Families

The Monmouth County Park System launched RecAssist for Individuals and Families in 2023. Through this program, eligible county residents are provided an opportunity to participate in a wide range of Park System for-fee programs of their choice at a discount of 25%.  Eligibility includes being on Medicaid, SNAP, and other qualifiers.

In addition to discounts, participants in this program are provided FREE access to several activities including the following:

Eligible residents receive a discount of 25% for Park System signature camps ranging in themes from nature, outdoor adventures, sports, creative arts, to a week on the farm! Beyond the summer season, RecAssist includes a variety of additional programs, for all ages, led by Park System staff, from guided hikes and nature education, to archery, fishing, historic site tours, pottery classes and more, all at a 25% discount!

  • Colts Neck
    Dorbrook Recreation Area

    This active recreation site features 540 acres which include a barrier-free playground, tennis courts, two swimming pools (for lessons only), a Sprayground, an inline rink, basketball courts, open fields, and 2.3 miles of paved trail for walking, biking, and in-line skating.

  • Tinton Falls
    Fort Monmouth Recreation Center

    This 21,000 square foot recreation center was acquired from the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) and will serve as the Park System's first ever indoor recreation facility

  • Middletown
    Grown In Monmouth Camp - 2025

    Grown in Monmouth Camp is a partnership between Grown in Monmouth and the Park System. Campers explore multiple county parks such as Historic Longstreet Farm and Turkey Swamp Park as well as our local farms including Kula Urban Farm, Battlefield Orchards and Allaire Community Farm. Campers cultivate an appreciation for fresh food and local agriculture.

    Monmouth County Park System: Coastal Activity Center - After School Recreation Program

    The Monmouth County Park System is committed to providing high-quality, unique, recreation programming for all Monmouth County citizens, regardless of their financial status. To achieve this goal, the Coastal Activity Center was established in 2013 to provide low-cost, high quality after-school recreation opportunities in the community.

    Monmouth County Parks Therapeutic Recreation

    The Therapeutic Recreation Division provides access to recreation opportunites for Monmouth County residents with disabilities to enhance physical, cognitive, emotional and social functioning as well as a sense of belonging.

    Special People United to Ride (SPUR) Monmouth County Parks

    Students from the age of four throughout adulthood come to SPUR to enjoy the many benefits of therapeutic horsemanship. Instructors and students work together in SPUR lessons to attain desired physical, cognitive, and/or emotional goals via a variety of Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT).

    Tony's Place

    Tony’s Place, named in honor of former Board of Recreation Commissioners Vice-Chairman Dr. Anthony Musella, is a universally accessible playground. It is the second joint venture playground project of the Park System, Challenged Youth Sports (based in Middletown) and Friends of the Parks.
