Overview St. Anne’s Center, also known as Grandma’s House, is a maternity home in Phillipsburg offering safe housing, childare, and individualized support for pregnant individuals who are homeless or parenting a small child while homeless. The program is operated by Life Choices, which serves over 600 women annually with essentials, preliminary medical services, and emotional support .

Who They Serve

Individuals who are:

  • Pregnant and homeless, or
  • Pregnant with a small child and homeless .
  • Many residents arrive facing domestic violence, unstable housing, or crisis situations and are seeking a safe haven and a path toward stability .

Core Supports & Approach

  • Safe, comfortable housing with 14 private rooms and shared living spaces including kitchens, craft room, exercise room, library, chapel, and computer access .
  • Personalized plans recognizing each resident’s individual needs and life circumstances .
  • Licensed medical professionals for counseling and volunteer mentors .
  • Required participation in employment or education programs, supported by Life Choices’ business network.

  • Access to prenatal care
  • Mentors for encouragement
  • Phones in every room for emergencies .

Daily Living & Activities Residents can expect a clean, safe home environment, opportunities to pursue employment goals, and activities that support hobbies, friendships, and healthy lifestyle development .

Life Skills Development Goal-setting, time management, meal planning, nutrition, budgeting, conflict resolution, job searching, interview skills, and résumé building are part of the program’s skill?building supports .
