Since 1927, Collier Youth Services has been providing unique and dynamic programs that assist young people and their families to build the necessary skills and tools to overcome adversity, heal from past trauma, and grow toward their potential in an environment that promotes belonging, dignity, and hope.

This is accomplished through Collier School, Collier Transition Program, Collier Residential Program, and Kateri Day Camp.

Collier School
Collier School serves students whose needs cannot be met in the public school and is fully accredited by the New Jersey Department of Education. At the heart of Collier School is the belief in the inherent worth of each individual and the capacity for personal change. Through quality education, specialized instruction, and therapeutic support, students come to experience themselves as caring, talented, and high-achieving individuals.

  • Collier Middle School:
Collier Middle School is a state-approved, private, non-profit school for students with disabilities in grades 5 through 8 whose needs cannot be met within the public school. The school's semi-departmentalized academic program offers a diverse curriculum taught by Highly Qualified teachers in each subject area while catering to the individual educational needs of each student.

Collier's strong counseling component combines individual as well as group therapy that supports social and emotional growth for all students. Our Positive Behavior Support program encourages Respect, Responsibility, Safety and Kindness, and also offers BCBA consultative services to assist with behavioral plans. Clubs and activities round out the educational program, giving students extracurricular opportunities similar to those offered in public schools.

  • Collier High School:
Collier High School is a state-approved, private, non-profit school for students with disabilities whose needs cannot be met within the public school.  The school's departmentalized academic program prepares students for admission into four-year colleges, community colleges, technical/vocational schools, and full-time employment.

Collier's strong counseling component combines individual as well as group therapy that encourages and supports social and emotional growth for all students. Clubs, sports teams, and activities round out the educational program, giving students extracurricular opportunities similar to those offered in public schools.

  • Collier Transition Program:
The Collier Transition Program serves students who have completed all of their high school graduation requirements but would benefit from support in enhancing their professional skills, college and/or vocational preparedness, and life skills to increase independence and employability.

The Collier Transition Program is a highly individualized program that works with students on meeting their specific needs. Students participate in a comprehensive career interest and values assessment to establish their targeted goals. Students work with Collier High School’s Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator to place them in on- or off-campus jobs best suited to their career interests. They receive extensive coaching and job-skill development to help them achieve success after high school.

Collier Residential Program:

  • Collier Group Home, located in Red Bank, NJ opened in 1973 and continues to be a safe haven for 10 young girls, ages 13-18, who have survived significant trauma, abuse, or neglect.

  • Collier House (Transitional Home)located in Keyport, NJ opened in 2007 after Collier witnessed a harrowing trend of young women in desperate need of additional in-depth counseling and safe housing upon aging out of traditional shelter services and the foster care system. Collier House is home to 5 young women, ages 16-21.

Both homes are staffed 24 hours a day by professional counselors.
