The Behavioral Health Institute of Monmouth County (BHI) was founded to address mental health treatment inequities in the Bayshore area of Monmouth County. By May 2020, our treatment service area grew to the entire state of New Jersey through the ability to offer telehealth services. Our staff is trained in third-wave Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with an emphasis on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We work with clients who may be struggling with symptoms of anxiety, mood disruption, adjustment to new stressors, substance misuse, and/or early recovery issues.
BHI's staff is committed to racial justice and equal rights, and supporting clients coping with the psychological harm of racism and oppressive practices. Behavioral inventions are introduced that target disruptive behaviors and increase overall psychological well being in the context of individual and group therapy.
