Asbury Park Summer Day Camp

The City of Asbury Park is pleased to announce that its Summer Day Camp Program will operate as a full-day program this year, running from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. It is the first time in more than ten years that the City has been able to offer a full-day summer camp experience to Asbury Park children.

The program is open to current kindergartners through current 7th graders and will be held at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School. Pre-registration is required and slots are limited. Registration is available at City Hall, 1 Municipal Plaza, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The program includes lunch and admission fees for most trips. Activities may include bowling, movies, Pt. Pleasant Aquarium and rides, waterparks, American Dream Mall, beach trips, and Hurricane Harbor.

The expanded hours are the result of careful program planning, a Workforce Development reimbursement grant, and funds raised through the Rodeo for Recreation fundraiser. Together, these resources made it possible to extend the program beyond the half-day format offered in prior years, a change that directly responds to feedback from parents in the community.

"This is a fantastic deal for our families," said Mayor John Moor. "A lot of parents told us a half day just wasn't cutting it. I want to thank Leesha Floyd and everyone who supported the Rodeo for Recreation for making this happen. I couldn't be more proud of what we put together for our children this summer."

"This expansion reflects the kind of thoughtful, community-driven programming that makes Asbury Park special," said City Manager Adam E. Cruz. "We are committed to providing quality recreational opportunities for our young residents, and this is a meaningful step forward."

Payment plans and scholarships are available. For more information, contact Leesha Floyd at 732-502-5759 or [email protected].
