Lunch Break Announces Purchase of Two-Family Home in Long Branch to Support Families Experiencing Homelessness
Lunch Break is proud to announce the purchase of a two-family home in Long Branch, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s long-term commitment to helping families experiencing homelessness achieve stability, dignity, and hope.
This acquisition follows several years of strategic planning to transition from temporary hotel placements to a sustainable, home-based model. After a three-year search, Lunch Break identified the ideal property and recently welcomed volunteers, staff, board members, Long Branch Council Member Dr. Anita Voogt, NJ Assemblywoman Luanne Peterpaul, and community supporters for a beautification day to prepare the residence for incoming families.
“It was always our intention to move from the hotel model to a house model. This is the first step,” said Gwendolyn O. Love, President & CEO of Lunch Break.
Families are expected to move in before the end of summer, aligning perfectly with the start of the new school year.
Lunch Break encourages community members to support this initiative by making a designated donation to Family Promise of Monmouth County. Contributions will help families purchase essential items with dignity and choice. Donations can be made at: donorbox.org/lunch-break-2025
Additional updates, including ribbon-cutting details, will be shared in the coming weeks.
