Covenant House New Jersey (CHNJ) provides sanctuary and support for youth ages 18-21 facing homelessness or human trafficking. We have six locations across the state: Atlantic City, Newark, Camden, Asbury Park, and specialized care in Montclair and Elizabeth. All services are free.
Our Programs
Young people facing homelessness in Asbury Park can access CHNJ’s emergency care through our street outreach program and drop-in center. Asbury Park is also home to our transitional housing program, Rights of Passage, for youth who are ready to take the step toward independent living. In ROP, youth work, save money, and learn to live on their own.

Covenant House New Jersey
CHNJ helps youth facing homelessness and human trafficking. We provide immediate shelter and care for youth age 18-21. We also provide an array of services to promote resilience to enable our clients to transition to independent living.
Covenant House Rights of Passage
For many of our young people, the Rights of Passage (ROP) Program is the next step beyond Crisis Care for young men and women on their journey to independent living. While at ROP young people work to develop the skills and knowledge to live independently and make the transition to adulthood. *** NEW!** Single females program (18-22) in Asbury Park Fall 2019!
