HOME VISITS AND MATERIAL ASSISTANCE

  • Vincentians provide personalized assistance to neighbors in need in our community who call our local hotline: 763-634-1167.
  • Conference members go out in pairs to listen, assess the neighbor’s needs, and discuss the type of assistance that might be helpful.
  • Each case is brought confidentially to a biweekly meeting of the conference, and members vote on whether and how to help.
  • Material assistance may be supplemented by other resources and agencies, thrift store vouchers, grocery or gas cards, and more.
  • In an emergency, assistance can be voted on by members of the board outside of a meeting.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL THRIFT STORE

The conference also operates the St. Vincent de Paul Store at 200 Central Avenue East in St. Michael. We offer a wide variety of men’s, women’s, children’s, and infant’s clothing, household and kitchen items, small hand and electrical tools, collectibles, jewelry, books, toys, and games. Revenue from the store supports the mission of the conference, and donated items may also be used to support neighbors in need. Hours and additional information are online at svdpstore.net.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
Recognizing the value of education today, this committee provides scholarship funds to area students through various means which they eagerly research and contact.

St. Michael's provides about $25,000 in scholarships and tuition aid to those attending Catholic elementary and secondary schools, Catholic and non-Catholic colleges.  The committee reviews applications and awards the money to deserving students.
