The New Jersey Child Assault Prevention Project (CAP), is a statewide prevention program. CAP trains children, parents, and teachers to prevent peer assault, stranger abduction, and known adult assault. CAP staff work closely with local school districts, parent/teacher associations, home school groups, and other community groups. CAP has a threefold educational approach to prevention which includes staff in-service, parent programs, and individual classroom workshops for children and teens.
Programs offered to schools and community groups with a three-prong approach which includes workshops for staff, parents, and students:
- CAP for Early Childhood, Elementary, Teen, Special Needs Students
- CAP’s Bullying Prevention Program
Monmouth County Child Assault Prevention (CAP) is dedicated to reducing children’s vulnerability to abuse through the empowering concept that each child has the right to be Safe, Strong, and Free. CAP has three components: school/staff workshops, parent/family in-service, and children’s classroom workshops designed to be effective in grades pre-school through high school. This three-pronged focus creates a community approach to prevention. We believe that by enlisting the whole community in our mission to prevent abuse, we expand our resources to safeguard children.
