Monmouth Medical Center's, Child and Adolescent Crisis Diversion Program

The Monmouth Medical Center’s Child and Adolescent Crisis Diversion Program is a brief outpatient program that focuses on meeting the emotional, behavioral and psychiatric needs of children and adolescents between the ages of 5-17 and their families, by providing rapid access to mental health services. 

 Our goal is to provide a safe, compassionate and trauma-sensitive environment to youth and their families to decrease the need for a higher level of care and to maintain safety in the community.

Our multidisciplinary team will work collaboratively with you and your child to help overcome these challenges so that symptoms can be stabilized and your child can begin to function at their full potential.


Common issues we treat include:
• Depression and social isolation
• Mood swings
• Hyperactivity, restlessness or impulsivity
• School avoidance
• Anxiety and panic
• Behavioral difficulties
• Poor social skills
• Loss of motivation or energy
• Auditory or visual hallucinations
• Appetite or sleep disturbance
• Suicidal thoughts
• Family conflict
• Trauma
• Thoughts of self-harm
• Poor self-esteem/image
• Gender Identity
• Grief and loss

About our staff
Our team of highly qualified caring mental-health professionals includes Advanced Practice Nurses, Licensed Clinicians, Case Managers and support staff — all with vast experience and specialization in working with children and families.


We strive to assist the youth in acquiring specific skills, strategies, techniques and interventions that can be utilized to effectively manage their presenting concerns in a healthy and sustainable manner.

Services offered by our dedicated staff include:
• Biopsychosocial Assessment
• Psychiatric Evaluation with medication
   management as recommended
• Brief psychotherapy services and supportive
  crisis counseling
• Family therapy
• Group therapy
• Coordination of care with school and
  community organizations
• Individualized referrals and linkage for ongoing
  mental health services and community needs
