Who We Are

To collect, preserve, interpret, and educate the public on the rich and diverse heritage of Monmouth County with the goal of passing on to future generations.

What We Do

The MCHA accomplishes the above through its extensive museum, five historic sites representing the County's vanishing architectural heritage, its library & archival collections that relate to Monmouth County's history and culture with resources available to the widest possible audience. We also advocate the study and appreciation of regional and national history through educational programming, publications, special exhibitions, and research services. We have many volunteer opportunities available to suit individual interests and skill levels as museum docents, open-hearth cooking assistants, educators for school group programs, interpreters at special event programs, and researchers in our library and archives. The hours are flexible and training is provided. As part of the MCHA's volunteer staff, one will learn about a diverse number of subjects, gain the opportunity to meet interesting people from all parts of the country, and educate them about the history and culture of our area.
