Lunch Break’s Family Promise of Monmouth County (LBFPMC) housing program is a comprehensive case management program designed to support families experiencing homelessness as well as those at risk of experiencing homelessness.
Our mission is to secure housing stability and sustainability for families in crisis because everyone deserves a home.
Our vision is that every family should have a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future. We offer many services and a dedicated team of individuals that are available to assist our clients in obtaining these goals.
Homelessness Prevention & Diversion
Preventing families from spiraling into homelessness is an essential part of LBFPMC's mission. Each family that comes to LBFPMC seeking assistance meets with a Case Manager to discuss what is needed to keep the family housed and prevent homelessness. LBFPMC Case Managers are trained in trauma-informed care and diversion practices. In some cases, mediation with a family member or light assistance in the form of food, utility assistance or transportation is all that is needed to divert a family from emergency shelter.
Housing & Stabilization
Housing stability is the overall goal of all LBFPMC programs. Every family that comes to LBFPMC is assigned a Case Manager to help the family find and move into permanent housing as quickly as possible. Once a family has moved into permanent housing LBFPMC provides training and other opportunities for families to continue to improve their household income, support networks, and overall well-being.
Through comprehensive case management, partnerships with community agencies, faith-based organizations, and volunteers, Family Promise of Monmouth County (a program within Lunch Break and an affiliate of Family Promise National) provides: prevention, shelter and diversion, food, transportation, clothing, and other needed items, resources for mental health services and other medical care, financial assistance as well as guidance and support in: financial literacy, budgeting, employment counseling, and keys to good tenancy.
