Located on the south east portion of Sandy Hook Bay, Leonardo State Marina offers pleasure boaters and fisherpersons easy access to some of the best fishing in the areas of the New York/New Jersey Harbor, the Raritan Bay, the Sandy Hook Bay, the Atlantic Ocean and the Jersey Coastline. The Marina offers the year round rental of 175 slips with a maximum boat length of 50 feet, transient slips are also available by contacting the main office. The marina features several six pack charter fishing vessels as well as a party boat. Personal watercraft docks and trailer dry storage is also available. Waiting lists are required for all summer slips and dry storage spaces. A public boat launch (fees apply) is also available year round providing access to vistas of the Upper Sandy Hook Bay, Lower Manhattan and the Gateway National Recreation Area Sandy Hook Unit.

The marina is also home to a small nature center featuring live animals and hands on educational learning for families and school groups. Throughout the year various events are held including Flea Markets, A National Marina Day celebration featuring a Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs fishing tournament and our annual Halloween & Pet festival. The rental of kayaks ($20/per person) during the summer months can also be scheduled by contacting the marina office.

Directions:
Leonardo State Marina is four blocks off Route 36 in Leonardo. By water, it is due southwest of Sandy Hook and is the closest marina to the Sandy Hook Bay entrance. Its proximity to the east of the Earle Naval Pier, makes it easily identifiable as you enter the bay from either New York Bay or the Atlantic Ocean.
