The Joan Dancy & PALS (People with ALS) Foundation serves ALS patients and their families in central New Jersey by providing support and services to improve their quality of life on a day-to-day basis.

We also offer:

• Monthly Support Group and Caregiver Meetings (Due to the current health risks of COVID-19 at this time, we are meeting via Zoom – please contact Pat Schaeffer at 732-239-4724 or Kathy Valentino at 609-433-6333 for an online invitation)
• Ongoing assistance, support and home visits by our professional staff, Patricia Schaeffer, RN and Kathy Valentino, LCSW
• Durable Medical Equipment Loan Program for wheelchairs, Hoyer Lifts, shower chairs, and commodes
• Social outlets for patients and families to encourage respite care, such as concerts and shows, as well as complimentary tickets to all fundraising events
• Services to assist with Hospice and Home Health Aide agencies
• Joan Dancy and PALS also provides consultative support to the Hackensack Meridian Health ALS Clinic at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ.

The Joan Dancy & PALS Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) charity and has an approved NJ Charity Registration.

Meetings are held at Hackensack Meridian Health Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune City, NJ for patients, families and caregivers the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 pm and the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 pm – for caregivers and families.
