Challenger Sports is a year-round program including soccer (fall), basketball (winter), and baseball (spring) serving children with special needs in the Freehold, NJ area. The program, which began in 1993, was created for athletes classified as being Eligible for Special Education to enjoy the full benefits of sports participation in an environment structured to their abilities. lt is open to athletes of all ages who are enrolled in some form of special service in school. lt takes place on Sunday mornings in Freehold Township. The program provides all forms of adaptive sports play for all types of special needs. The value of Challenger Sports can be seen in:
