FRA EmployAbility Program
Empowering Individuals
with Disabilities to Thrive in the Workforce

Family Resource Associates’ (FRA) EmployAbility Program is designed to support individuals with disabilities in building the skills, confidence, and independence necessary to enter and succeed in the competitive workforce. Grounded in the belief that meaningful employment enhances quality of life and personal dignity, our program provides a structured, personalized pathway from skill development to job placement and long-term support.

  • Participants engage in a wide range of prevocational training, including:
  • Workplace readiness skills (time management, communication, hygiene, task completion)
  • Resume writing, mock interviews, and self-advocacy coaching
  • Social and interpersonal skills for professional environments
  • Exploration of interests and potential career paths
  • Real-world practice through volunteer placements, job shadowing, and community-based instruction

Each individual’s goals are at the center of our planning. FRA’s experienced job coaches work closely with participants, families, and potential employers to ensure a person-centered approach that matches strengths and interests with opportunities.

Once ready, participants are supported through the job search, application, and interview process. On-site job coaching is available to help ensure a smooth transition and continued success in the workplace. FRA also offers follow-along services to support both the individual and employer post-hire.

The Employability Program not only helps individuals secure jobs—it empowers them to build fulfilling lives with purpose, routine, and belonging. Through employment, our participants gain independence, financial literacy, self-esteem, and stronger connections to their communities.
