The Division of Child and Youth Services under the Department of Human Services:
Coordinates the Youth Services Commission that serves as the primary advisory body to the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners regarding issues related to youth at risk or involved in Family Court.
Operates the Juvenile Detention Alternatives program, which oversees House Arrest/Electronic Monitoring/Shelter Programs that serve juveniles referred by the Monmouth Vicinage, Family Division Judiciary.
Convenes the Children's Inter-Agency Coordinating Council (CIACC) which monitors and assesses the needs of children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional, developmental, and intellectual needs.
Directs the Positive Youth Development Hub which focuses on ages 9-17 years with an emphasis on upstream prevention to help youth avoid the juvenile justice system and mental health crisis. The PYD Hub is represented by the private and public sector and encourages collaboration and innovation to best meet the needs of youth and families.
