Anger Management & Conflict Resolution Group

An evidenced-based Cognitive-Behavioral approach will be utilized to promote healthy expressions of emotions.
**Referrals are accepted from the courts/FCIU, law enforcement, schools, UCMs and YCMs, DYFS, mental health professionals, and parents**
For adolescents ages 13-17 years. Tuesdays at 6:00 pm and Wednesdays at 5:00 pm. Participants will be divided into two groups based on age and will meet once weekly for eight weeks at IEP Youth Services, Inc., Freehold.
An evidenced-based Cognitive Behavioral approach will be utilized to promote healthy expressions of emotions with a focus on:
- Identifying and verbalizing emotions
- Addressing thinking errors and their impact on behavior
- Identifying triggers to anger and practicing affect regulation
- Addressing negative coping styles and teaching stress management techniques
- Identifying bullying behavior and promoting healthy and effective social skills
- Solution-focused problem solving and conflict resolution
