The Housing Authority of the City of Asbury Park serves low-income residents of Asbury Park, NJ, and surrounding areas through housing subsidy programs.

Application process

• The APHA administers the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program 
• The APHA receives federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to administer the program 
• The application process includes verifying your household's income and family status 

What happens after application

• If approved, you will receive a housing voucher 
• You are responsible for finding a suitable housing unit that meets minimum health and safety standards 
• The voucher will pay a portion of your rent, usually anything above 30% of your adjusted monthly income 

Factors that may give you priority 

• Having a disability
• Being homeless
• Being over the age of 62
• Being a veteran
• Residing in a shelter
• Having an extremely low income
