Community YMCA Reality Life Skills Counseling

Reality Life Skills Counseling at the YMCA helps young adults, ages 15-21, to develop problem solving and decision making skills. Program participants learn to reduce high risk behaviors by establishing concrete, outcome oriented, and time limited plans of care.

Life Skills counselors are BA certified, Master's level individuals or highly skilled Behavioral Assistants who work with children between the ages of 15 and 21 specifically on Independent Living Skills using the Ansell-Casey curriculum. Authorized under the Behavioral Assistance code (H2014TJ) for the length of time and rate that the Child, Family Team feels is necessary.

Reality Life Skills Counseling teaches young adults independent living skills by focusing on:
