Parents Anonymous® of New Jersey, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization in New Jersey since 1977. The mission of Parents Anonymous, dba Parents Inc. is to protect children by strengthening families through mutual support, parent leadership, and advocacy. We work toward this mission by providing free community-based, professionally facilitated, parent-led support groups and parent leadership, engagement, and advocacy services that we make available to parents and organizations statewide. We also operate a 24 hour Family Helpline, 1-800-THE-KIDS.
Parents Inc. has a Board of Trustees who oversee the organization and have fiduciary responsibility. We have an organizational budget of $800,000. We have been providing services to families and communities for over 45 years. We have been a contract agency of DCP&P for over 30 years.
Parents Inc. seeks an Executive Director to function as the organization's Chief Executive Officer. The Executive Director manages all aspects of Parents Inc.’s organization: planning, implementation, and evaluation of projects, programs, policy, fiscal, personnel, and administration. The Executive Director reports directly to Parents Inc.’s Board of Trustees and is responsible for implementing policies and the strategic plan set by the Board.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
• Overall leadership of staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of short and long-range plans and policies, and other activities.
• Financial management, including developing and implementing the annual budget, overseeing development and fundraising, and ensuring sound financial practices.
• Development, implementation, accomplishment, and evaluation of the annual strategic plan as approved by the Board of Trustees.
• Liaison and collaboration with key organizations and partners at the state and national levels.
• Support all activities associated with the Board of Directors, including staffing for all Board and Committee meetings, meeting schedules, locations, development of the agenda, and meeting materials.
• Administration of the overall operation of the organization, including reviewing and evaluating the results of program activities, ensuring that continuing contractual and funding obligations are being fulfilled, allocating resources for greater program effectiveness and
efficiency, and developing organizational and administrative policies and program objectives for Board consideration.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly responsible for the supervision of the Assistant Director, Program Director, Regional Coordinator, Volunteer Director, and all staff. Overall responsibility for appropriately interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; providing incentives and positive discipline to employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Identify areas requiring planning; develop and recommend goals, objectives, and action plans for the approval of the Board. Monitor and evaluate all services and report progress to the Board of Directors; make recommendations for change as needed. Oversee the development of budgets for submission to the Board; ensure compliance with approved budgets; propose revisions as necessary. Provide the appropriate control and accountability of all funds, physical assets, and other property. Protect Parents Inc.’s legal interests and maintain its operations within the law. Oversee the human resources function to ensure optimum staffing and utilization of competent staff, recommending policy changes to benefits, compensation, employment, training, and other areas as appropriate. Establish an effective communication system throughout the organization and the larger community to build and maintain a positive image. Represent Parents Inc. in key relationships and partnerships with governmental, non-profit, parent, and other organizations as needed.

The Executive Director will work out of the Hamilton/Trenton NJ Parents Inc. Headquarters. Extensive statewide travel is required.
Salary Range: $95,000 – 110,000
Masters in Social Work, Public Health or Masters in Nonprofit Administration Preferred.
