Keansburg Public Schools- School Based Youth Service Program (SBYSP)

The School-Based Youth Services Program (SBYSP) has been operational in Keansburg High School since 1999 serving 9th through 12th graders. SBYSP services include: mental health counseling; employment counseling; substance abuse education/prevention; preventive health awareness including pregnancy prevention; primary medical linkages; learning support; healthy youth development; recreation; and information/referral.

SBYSP is staffed by a program coordinator, mental health clinician, and youth development specialist. The goal of the program is to keep our students happy, healthy, and drug free while preparing them for college or career.

Referrals to the Program are made by parents/guardians, school staff and students themselves. Outside agencies, such as DYFS, Monmouth Medical and others also make recommendations that students and families seek counseling and support from the Program.

The School Based Youth Services Program (SBYSP) is located in Keansburg High School and coordinates with existing resources in the community.  All students are eligible to participate and services are provided before, during and after school.

The target population is all youth currently enrolled in the Keansburg High School SBYSP.
