JSAS is a private, non-profit agency that provides comprehensive outpatient substance abuse treatment.

Opioid Treatment Services
Their ambulatory substance abuse treatment program provides medication-assisted treatment (methadone maintenance) and short & long-term opiate detoxification to patients with a primary addiction to heroin or other opiates.

Outpatient Counseling Services Program
Provides assessment & evaluation, individual/group counseling, and referral to patients who are abusing or addicted to substances other than opiates.  They provide primary care, stabilization, and aftercare services, based on clinical appropriateness.  They are also approved to provide assessment & treatment for Intoxicated Drivers Resource Center (IDRC) referrals.

Perinatal Project C.A.R.E. (Chemical Abuse Recovery Experience)
An ambulatory care program for the treatment of pregnant & postpartum substance-abusing women & their infants.  The medical component includes obstetrical care & "well child" pediatric care.  Health education & counseling are an integral part of this program (732-502-9496).

HIV/AIDS Services
On-site HIV services include HIV counseling & testing for patients & their partners; medical assessment, treatment, and/or referral for patients who are HIV positive; case coordination and case management.

Individual & Group Counseling
All patients in treatment have a full range of medical & counseling services included in their individualized treatment plan. Education & support groups offered include Parenting, Relaxation/Acupuncture, Creativity, Methadone Anonymous, Anger Management, Narcotics Anonymous, Men's & Women's Groups, and Relapse Prevention.

Specialized Services
Informational sessions are held on the first Monday of each month at 5:30 pm. Specialized programs are offered to help our patients with tobacco dependency, HCV disease, and nutritional deficits. Free Hepatitis A/B vaccinations are offered to all patients.
