Integrative Psychotherapy - Kristen Levitt

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I specialize in women's reproductive and maternal mental health. I work with individuals and couples.

My Services

The work I do with my clients centers specifically on their individual needs.  I know that infertility, third party reproduction and perinatal/postpartum challenges can cause you to feel overwhelmed, isolated, frustrated and helpless. It may feel that no one truly understands your pain and sadness. Friends and family aren’t able to give you the support you need, and you feel lost in your struggle, not recognizing yourself or the life you are living. My role is to help you learn how to identify, process and manage your physical and emotional challenges, navigate the myriad medical treatments and maintain effective communication with your family, friends and medical team. I also believe in an integrative approach to treatment and take into account the whole person (mind, body, spirit). I work with individuals, couples and groups.

Infertility and Loss
While on the infertility rollercoaster, you may feel isolated, hopeless, frustrated and anxious. You may feel as though you have pressed the pause button and can no longer focus on other parts of your world. I am here to help you navigate, process and learn to manage the distress infertility has caused in your life.

Perinatal/Postpartum Mood & Anxiety Disorders
Society has us believe becoming a mother is all unicorns and rainbows. Reality is pregnancy and motherhood can cause us to feel anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, defective, hopeless, disconnected and empty. It can also bring on “scary thoughts”. This may be PMAD’s (Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders); you are not alone and it is treatable.

Third Party Reproduction
Most reproductive endocrinologists and clinics require consultations when using an egg donor or sperm donor. I meet with individuals and couples for these psycho-educational consultations and provide written reports to their reproductive endocrinologists.

Women’s Issues
As women we strive to be everything to everyone…but ourselves. We are learning that taking care of ourselves is just as necessary as the care we give others. Together we can work on developing your self-care and healthy habits.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Trauma can be very complicated. The benefits of ART to treat trauma as well as other emotional struggles including depression, anxiety, panic, phobias, OCD, grief and sleep has been shown to work more quickly than other traditional types of treatment.

Mindfulness
Life is filled with many stressors both emotional and physical. Mindfulness can help us reduce stress and anxiety, decrease depressive symptoms and increase insight and awareness to the wellbeing of ourselves and those around us.
