Friends Connect Foundation

Friends Connect Foundation’s mission is to provide social opportunities designed for individuals with special needs. Our age-appropriate programs assist participants in forming new friendships, improving their self-esteem, and increasing their sense of belonging in the community.

Program Overview
FCF creates unforgettable experiences for special needs participants and their families for free! We hear stories after almost every event about how a participant has built confidence to try new things, is more open to forming friendships, and how their parents sees new opportunities for their children that they did not previously consider possible. Our free social programs are designed specifically for teenagers with special needs (ages 12-21). Our programs are inclusive, meaning that we do not serve a specific group or limit or control who we serve.

Event Specifics
At each event, volunteer “buddies” are paired with a participant with special needs to be their host, guide, and friend while helping them engage in fitness, self-expression, and social and music activities. We help teenagers with special needs build confidence, new friendships, and an improved sense of belonging through free social activities like dance lessons, art, gardening, cooking, field days, ice skating, games, and more.
