People who call and give a tip will be paid up to $5,000 if their tip leads to an arrest, it depends upon factors like the kind of information given and seriousness of the crime

The partnership between Crime Stoppers and the prosecutor’s office, the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office and the Board of Chosen Freeholders provides an anonymous way for people to call in tips, and gives a cash incentive.

Crime Stoppers assigns a confidential code number to anyone who gives a tip, which will become the only identity of the person kept in the system. If an arrest is made, the Board of Directors, who is not affiliated with law enforcement, will determine the reward amount and the tipster can pick up the cash at a Crime Stopper’s bank in Freehold using their confidential number.
