Support Groups

If your organization has a support group meeting that you would like to add, please submit it online (registration is required).

FACT Program (Fathers Are Caregivers Too): 180 Turning Lives Around; A new program specifically for dads/fathers who have been identified by service providers as at high-risk for child abuse or neglect. FACT is a 6-week closed psycho-education group which is facilitated by a licensed counselor experienced in providing specialized parenting programs. To refer someone to this exicting new group, please contact Monica Schiffman, LCSW at (732) 264-4360 ext. 4283, or call 180 at (732) 264-4111.

Fatherhood Empowerment Program (FEP): Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30 pm; The Family Resource Center, Mercy Center; The Fatherhood Empowerment program (FEP) promotes the positive involvement and interaction of fathers with their children in order to become self sufficient and responsible in meeting the needs of their families.

Holistic Moms Network of Monmouth County: 2nd Friday, 7:00 pm; Dean's Natural Food Market; We welcome all area parents with an interest in natural health and mindful parenting. Our parents have kids ranging in ages from newborns to teenagers.

Parent Management Training (PMT) Group: Monday evenings (beginning in March) from 6:30pm-8pm; CPC Herrmann Counseling Center; Introducting PMT: a 12 week parenting program that has been proven to assist parents in changing their child's negative behaviors! Are you frustrated that your child will not: listen? complete chores? do homework? stop fighting with siblings? stop talking back? You are not alone! Sign up for our parenting group that will teach you new skills to change your child's behavior. Groups are held at CPC Behavioral Healthcare's Helen Herrmann Counseling Center.

Parenting Program (The Mercy Center, Family Resource Center): Thursdays, 10:00 am-12:30 pm; The Mercy Center, Family Resource Center; Program offers parents appropriate and effective parenting techniques and an understanding of the different stages of a child’s physical and emotional development.

Parents Anonymous of New Jersey, Inc.: 24/7 Stressline (800) 843-5437; FREEHOLD: Tues, 10:00 am to Noon / KEANSBURG: Wed, 9:30-11:30 am (Keansburg residents only); Supports to strengthen families through professionally facilitated parenting support groups for families.

The Community YMCA - Counseling and Social Services, DBT Group: Outpatient locations - Varies; Long Branch Community Center; The Community YMCA; DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) Group - Support and Skill Building for the Strong Spirited 16 week out patient skill group Long Branch Community Center.
