Mental Health First Aid Certificate Training

Just as CPR helps, even those without clinical training, assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid prepares participants to interact with a person experiencing a mental health or an addiction crisis. In this 8-hour adult certification training, Mental Health First Aiders learn a 5-step action plan that guides them through the process of reaching out and offering appropriate support. This certificate training is for adults,18 and over, and anyone in the community, as well as health care professionals.
Meet your Mental Health First Aid Instructors:
Marni Elson-Victor, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Field Placement Coordinator/Professor with Georgian Court University's Psychology and Counseling Department. Marni brings with her 20+ years of professional and personal experience in the field of mental health and addiction.
Kathryn Fleming, Ph.D., RN, CPHQ, NEA-BC, FACHE, is an R.N with over 20 years experience in many healthcare settings: hospital, insurance, nursing homes, health systems, and disease management. Kathryn holds a joint appointment as a Nurse Scientist at Hackensack Meridian Health and as an Assistant Chairperson for the Nursing Department at the Hackensack Meridian Health Georgian Court School of Nursing.
