Healthy Cooking: 101

This course will define the major food groups and the importance of creating balance. We'll discover healthy recipes and easing cooking techniques. Participants will create these healthy recipes in class and learn how to incorporate physical activity into our everyday routine! All ingredients and tools will be provided. Bring an Apron if you like!
The delicious and nutritious recipes that we'll discover together are:
Session 1: Broccoli Saute with garlic and oil & Low Sodium Nachos
Session 2: Chicken & Vegatable stir fry & Fruit and Vegatable Smoothie (Pineapple & Carrots)
Session 3: Turkey Chili with beans & Chicken Salad with greek yogurt
We'll also discuss grocery shopping tips, ways to reduce sodium, techniques to reduce sugar, importance of whole grains and the exercise tip of the day!
