Behavioral Crisis Response Services for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

This presentation will overview NJ's unique behavioral crisis response services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, now known as CARES (Crisis Assessment Response and Enhanced Services) and formerly known as SCCAT. The speaker will talk about available resources within the mental health system to all persons with disabilities who are in crisis regardless of age and help family's identify the resources needed to manage behavioral crises in place including when it is necessary to seek mental health acute care services.
