Back by popular demand, Autism New Jersey is proud to once again offer a conference tailored specifically to the concerns of families with children from 10 to 25 years of age. This specialized event provides caregivers and professionals with up-to-date information pertaining to this critical time in the life of an individual with autism. Careful planning to navigate the changes from school to the adult service system is necessary, and thousands rely on Autism New Jersey’s assistance to do so. 12 workshops and 50 exhibits will focus on legal, instructional, and service issues specific to this important time of life. Since its origin in 2014, the Transition Conference has been a sold-out event, and we look forward to serving 450 participants on May 1st, 2017 at the Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel. Join us!

Improving the Transition to Adulthood

Autism New Jersey is pleased to announce that the 2017 keynote address, “Improving the Transition to Adulthood” will be presented by Mary McDonald, Ph.D., BCBA-D, from Eden II Programs and Hofstra University. Dr. McDonald will discuss important decisions and preparations pertaining to skills to be taught, systems to be faded, schedules of reinforcement, and dependency on prompts and 1:1 instruction. She will specifically focus on curriculum assessment, skill development, and proactive strategies to foster a smooth transition to adulthood.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note: we can only have 450 attendees. After we reach maximum capacity, registration will be closed and there will not be a waiting list. An attendance certificate will be provided at the end of the day, but no professional CEUs are offered for this event [BCBAs may be able to submit these hours as Type 3 CEUs]. Seating for the workshops will be first-come, first-served onsite, so please arrive at the session early if there is a workshop you especially want to hear.
