180's Amanda's Easel Child Abuse Prevention Month Luminary Display

The month of April is nationally recognized as Child Abuse Prevention month. During this time, many organizations spread awareness of children’s needs and the importance of services designed to meet
these needs. The Amanda’s Easel Creative Arts Therapy Program at 180 Turning Lives Around is a non-profit agency focused
on empowering survivors and families affected by domestic violence.  This program utilizes creative arts therapy to help children and non-offending caregivers to process and heal from the effects of domestic violence to live more fulfilling lives. The Amanda’s Easel Creative Arts Therapy program created a display of 72 luminaries
(bags containing children’s artwork and battery-operated candles) around the borough of Red Bank to shine a light on the needs of children affected by domestic violence and to spread awareness of how prevention efforts can reduce the risk of families being impacted by abuse.
